Assalamualaikum, Last week was the third out of our four hell's week. Pardon the language, I thought the term is necessary xD Tapi, this one was actually a great week. Okay. So, Isnin pagi tu ada bengkel NFPE in which we learned more and practiced NFPE. Then, sambung dengan briefing untuk community. Petang tu dah start case presentation for 5 people and semua orang tengok depa present kat Makmal Diet. I was finalizing my slides and log book. Habis je, terus pergi flat ikan dengan Jaz, Peah, Mona, Meli nak fotostat log book & print slides. My case presentation was the next morning. I was the third presenter kat Makmal Penilaian Pemakanan tu. Gabra jugaklah tapi sebab kes aku tu pun baru lagi, so I was not too nervous. Presenting was fine, despite takut tak sempat masa. My assessors were Dr Bai, Dr Z & Encik Asri. I presented once the last Tuesday kat Kajang depan semua dietitian. At the time it was about refeeding syndrome and the patient was still in the ward. T

Assalamualaikum, I am finally breathing freely now that IPD 2 is officially over. Sebenarnya bila tengok '10 minggu' tu aku ingat lama, tapi tup tup dah habis pun. Kejap je. Despite being in the 10 weeks with the same tiring feeling of "Cepatlah habis, tolonglah. Aku tak larat dah ni". Hm, entahlah. Aku rasa IPD 2 ni much more challenging than IPD 1.  1. Mungkin sebab jangka masa panjang tu. IPD 1 dulu just 6 weeks. Ni tambah lagi 4 weeks. 2. IPD 1 dulu kat Serdang je. Ni IPD 2 aku kat Kajang jugak. 3. Higher expectations from CIs, friends, lecturers and even yourself sebab tidak dapat tidak, kau kena ada foundation. Sebab dah berapa belas minggu kau internship kan.  5 weeks kat Serdang rasa okay je, sebab dah biasa kat situ. Sistem dia, how everything works. Tempat2 kat situ pun dah biasa. Orang pun. Aku tak tahu nak cerita apa kat Serdang sebab mostly lebih kurang je dengan IPD 1, tapi kali ni dapat pergi more wards & tengok lebih banyak disipli

Assalamualaikum, For the first semester, we had 2 assessment weeks. Apa benda assessment week? Dalam satu minggu tu lah ada bedside exam, case presentation & case report.  1. Bedside exam: a lecturer would assess our case handling with real patients. 2. Case presentation: Choose one case during one of the rotation, then do follow-up (AT LEAST once for OPD, twice for IPD), then present the full NCP of the case. 3. Case report: Like case presentation, only this one we do not present it to be assessed by the lecturers, instead, we write a full NCP report to be checked. Time ni lah semua orang serabut nak siapkan semua benda. Especially obvious masa assessment week 1. Ya Allah, aku sampai demam kot. Mungkin sebab first time, tak expect benda nak jadi stressful macam tu. Mana nak siapkan slides, nak tulis report maximum 20 pages, nak study untuk bedside exam, nak lengkapkan edu tool, pocket book. Assalamualaikum, So, sebenarnya aku tengah cuti seminggu, which is the only break we're getting for the whole 2 semesters of our clinical year. Sounds tough kan? Because it is. I mean, of course we have weekends to ourselves tapi cuti panjang yang macam ni is very hard to come by. Sejak kitorang first year lagi lecturers dah warning pasal benda ni and we thought we've prepared ourselves, but we actually didn't haha. Typical Malaysians, suka cuti. Alright, since aku tak banyak masa nak update setiap kali habis rotation OPD, so kita satukan dalam satu post ni je lah iye. 3 rotations of OPD sums up to 9 weeks in total. Assalamualaikum, So, I finally broke my 'Enter' button. Taylor has been doing so well, berbakti entah dah berapa tahun tak pernah buat masalah. Walaupun tak pernah housekeeping, tak pernah meragam, alhamdulillah. Cuma sikit2 jelah dia hang kadang2 tu bila lama sangat buat kerja2 fyp haa nak suruh tuan dia berhenti rehat lah tu gamaknya. Anyway, I finished my second rotation, the last IPD 1 punya rotation. Esok start OPD 1st rotation pulak. Fuh, totally do not know what to expect. Tapi dah tahulah OPD ni tak sama dengan IPD. How so? Nantilah cerita lepas habis 3rd rotation haha. 7C. Mula2 dah cuak dah sebab fikir mesti banyak gila case/referral since the group before us was soooo busy. Tiba2 masa first week kat ward ni, gersang je bedside referral takde untuk group aku. Assalamualaikum, 3 weeks had gone by. I just ended my first rotation of clinical internship at ward 6B (Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Surgical), Hospital Serdang. I think it was apparent how anxious I was when I first started this rotation. Rightfully so seeing that it was the beginning of our clinical year. What more, we were attached with one of the, I don't know how to best describe the rumors I've heard about Puan Liyana. How she's strict, garang, or so they said. I actually got to see it first hand when I went for a ward round during my second year. She told off one of our seniors when she failed to answer her question regarding ONS. So yeah, even without the rumors, it was engraved in my mind that she is someone I should fear :D On our very first day, we did not go to the wards/clinics like all the other groups, but we were the attendees of a talk by our clinical instructor at the main campus. Assalamualaikum, We got back to college earlier than usual. Bukannya tak pernah balik awal tapi kali ni memang balik kolej awal yang tak balik2 rumah haha.  Actually, for UPM's Bachelor Science of Dietetics, tak pernah ada orientation week pun untuk clinical rotation. This was the first time it was held. Aku rasa sebab batch kami, Dietista 11 ni first batch yang masuk dengan interview, kami dah banyak kali jadi lab rats which is not necessarily a bad thing. Maksudnya kamilah manusia2 pertama yang kena lalui semua ni dan tengok macam mana outcome nya nanti so that benda ni boleh apply kat juniors pula, mungkin dalam version yang dah improve. Aku tak kata batch2 sebelum ni tak bagus, tapi mungkin lecturers nak tengok sejauh mana program ni boleh ditambah baik. Nak hasilkan dietitians yang lebih kompeten dan berkaliber.  Anyway, the week started on a Monday, the 20th of August.
